Meet Our Staff

PASTOR:

MICHAEL UFFERMAN

Mike Ufferman has been ministering at Rosemont Baptist Church since January 1st, 2006 as a bi-vocational pastor.  He and his family arrived in Orlando after he retired from 21 years of service in the Air Force.  Mike was ordained as a Southern Baptist pastor during his military assignment to the Azores, Portugal where he was also the bi-vocational pastor of the Azorean Baptist Church for 2 1/2 years from 1994 to 1997.

Bonnie Ufferman grew up on the mission field in the Republic of Panama where her parents ministered to Panamanians and Indigenous tribes as church planters for 37 years. Mike and Bonnie met in Panama during Mike's first military assignment. They met at First Baptist Church of Balboa Heights where Bonnie served as the church secretary and as a missionary with her parents' ministry.

The Uffermans home schooled their two children Faith and Tim during Mike's service as a Radio and Television Broadcaster in the Air Force both overseas and  in the US. Both children were entirely home school from kindergarten through High School graduation. The whole family believes home schooling is the best possible education Bible-believing parents can offer their children today to provide a godly foundation and excellent life skills. The Uffermans are eager to encourage families who need support and advice about how to bring up godly children in this ungodly world.

Along with the ministry here at Rosemont Baptist Church, Mike, Bonnie and their daughter, Faith minister full-time with Zion's Hope in Clermont, Florida. Zion's Hope was founded by Marv Rosenthal, an American Jew who came to understand how Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of all the promises God has made to the Children of Israel. As stated on www.zionshope.org, “Zion’s Hope seeks to graciously proclaim to the Jewish people their need for personal salvation through Jesus the Messiah and to proclaim the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to all men regardless of race, religion, gender, education, or national origin. Accordingly, Zion’s Hope seeks to educate the Bible-believing Church concerning the place of Israel in both history and prophecy and assist it in fulfilling its God-given obligation to rightfully include the Jewish people in its program for world evangelism.” Among other things, Marv Rosenthal is known for his book, The Pre-Wrath Rapture of the Church that presents what we believe is the best explanation of end-times events according to Scripture.  Rosemont Baptist Church supports Zion's Hope's Israeli missionaries located in Israel along with other missions around the world.

Mike has been on staff with Zion's Hope since February 2001 and is currently the Communications Manager.  Along with developing audio and video products for Zion`s Hope, Mike is part of the editorial staff of  the Zion`s Fire magazine, handles theological questions by phone and assists in leading tours to Israel twice a year. Bonnie is the Customer Service Supervisor and Faith works alongside Bonnie in the Customer Service Department.

Upon arriving in Central Florida, the Uffermans looked for a conservative Bible-teaching, traditional Baptist Church where beautiful hymns are still sung and the family worships and serves together.  They found a couple of wonderful churches who welcomed them and reached out in love; however, they felt the Lord was leading them to seek how their family could be used where others were not available. Rosemont's small aging congregation provided a supportive family that needed younger workers to carry on the ministry the church has been doing in Orlando, Florida since 1927.

Over the years, the Uffermans have watched churches struggle with the pressure to modernize in their music and style, to compete with a culture of television, video games and entertainment. The effort to provide exciting programs to attract children and young people in their age-appropriate classes with success often gauged by "boredom-factor", rather than Biblical integrity concerned the Uffermans as they watched their own children affected by these values.  The Uffermans came to believe that a key reason many young people wander away from church after high school is that churches feel pressured to provide entertainment, excitement and fun; yet, when they are too old for Junior Church or Youth Group, they no longer feel they belong.  They are more familiar with Hollywood and television than the Word of God.  With so many distractions and activities more appealing to the flesh, and no foundation to ground and root them to the family of God, they wander away from their Christian parents’ and grandparents’ values, not having adopted these as their very own.

The Uffermans believe that Rosemont Baptist Church is the family church they were looking for.  Rosemont is truly a family church where the family can attend church together – not split up. They are excited about the young adults who are learning Biblical principles and insights not found elsewhere, and finding answers to the secular humanistic world view so prevalent in the market-place of life.

If you are seeking a church where Biblical excellence and integrity is pre-eminent; where children are valued and taught to serve their Lord alongside their parents; where the primary goal is to prepare each one for life, especially in what seems to be these "last days" prophesied in Scripture; where godly servants are needed and valued - please consider if the Lord would have you serve Him at Rosemont Baptist Church.

MUSIC MINISTER & YOUNG-ADULT PASTOR

TIM UFFERMAN :

Tim Ufferman serves alongside his father as the Music Minister, as well as the Young-Adult Pastor to THE CORE, Rosemont's newest exciting ministry among College and Career-aged individuals. Along with serving bi-vocationally at Rosemont, Tim is a self-employed artist working at some of Orlando's major theme parks and resorts; as well as growing his own graphic art business, including this web site which he manages for Rosemont.

Tim loves people and counseling one on one, encouraging each one to get serious about the business of loving God and serving Him. Rosemont Baptist Church and Tim believe that it is people his age who are the future core of the church, which is why this group is called THE CORE.

Here is Tim's personal message and invitation to all young adults in the Orlando area who want to live for the Lord:

1 Tim 4:12
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.”

Our Motto: “We are “THE CORE” of Rosemont Baptist Church. Our goal is to strengthen our faith and train ourselves to be future leaders and warriors in our churches and in our faith.”

Please come join us Wednesday nights at 7:00PM at 4236 N. John Young Parkway, Orlando FL.

PASTOR OF VISITATION

ED BELL :

Without Ed Bell and his wife Barbara, the family of Rosemont Baptist Church would probably not be here today. Ed is the best example we have to show THE CORE about how loving God and serving Him by serving His church is such a worthwhile life goal.

The list of all that Ed Bell does at Rosemont Baptist Church is too long to list, but as his title suggests, Ed is there whenever he is needed. The reason that Mike Ufferman can pastor bi-vocationally and still work full time at Zion's Hope is because Ed Bell serves selflessly in any possible way he can, wherever he is needed.

Ed also serves as the Treasurer of the Greater Orlando Baptist Association and a is powerful advocate for the work done through the Southern Baptist Associations and Cooperative Program in reaching the lost for Christ locally, nationally and to the uttermost parts of the earth.

Barbara Bell serves at Rosemont Baptist Church by playing piano for our services and keeping our church fresh and lovely with her own flower arrangements.

You can't have better friends than Ed and Barbara Bell.
